The ‘Pinchos Days’, Farm and Food Fair and Botillo cultural week are back

After a year of hiatus due to the pandemic, the National Festival of Exaltation of the Botillo recovers the characteristic activities such as the ‘Jornadas de Pinchos del Botillo’ (Pinchos Days), the Agro-food Fair and the cultural week.

This Wednesday the presentation of the program of activities took place on behalf of the Mayor of Bembibre, Silvia Cao, and the Councilor for Culture, Festivals, Tourism and Commerce, Belén Martín. In addition to the chairman (Luis Larrodera) and guest artist (Pastora Soler), all the details about the XLIX Bembibre’s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo are already known.

One more year, the pinchos made with the sausage as an essential dish will have a place during the previous weekend and the one coinciding with the Festival. It will be on March 11, 12 and 13, first with the contest format so that the jury and the public can taste the gastronomic creations; and on March 18, 19 and 20, after the jury’s assessment, so that Bembibrenses as well as visitors can enjoy Bercian gastronomy exalting botillo.

The Farm and Food Fair once again becomes one of the inseparable events of the Botillo Festival. The twenty-second edition will take place on March 18, 19 and 20 and, in addition to the exhibitors offering their products from the agri-food sector in general, there will be a series of workshops focused on the preparation of very varied delicacies.

All this without forgetting the cultural week that this year will have as its central theme the Bembibre sewing workshop, to which the National Festival of Exaltation of Botillo will pay tribute.

The cultural week will begin the previous Sunday, March 12, with the exhibition “Hilando historia”, about the Bembibre sewing workshop. The inauguration will be at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until April 9. On March 12 there will also be a theatrical performance with the Teatro en Obras company that will stage “La inconclusa”.

On March 14 and 15, a new Crealabor meeting will bring Bembibre closer to the different participants, who will be located in the House of Cultures.

More theater according to the theme with the show “De tailors”, by the company El jaleo productions, on March 16 at 8:00 p.m.

On the 17th there will be a round table entitled “With the soul adorned”, moderated by Ángeles Cebrones, daughter of Ángeles Alonso, creator of the sewing workshop and promoter of the Alto Bierzo de Bembibre museum. It will have the participation of the members of the sewing workshop. It will be at 8:00 p.m.
