Yolanda Navarro wins the literary contest of the Botillo Festival with the story “Ne me quitte pas”

Yolanda Navarro González from Bembibre has been elected winner of the literary contest of the LI National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo with the story “Ne me quitte pas”.

Yolanda Navarro, born in Palencia in 1965, has lived in Bembibre since she was four years old. She works at the Menéndez Pidal school and has an outstanding career in the cultural field, especially in theatre. In 2004 she was one of the founders of the group Benevivere Teatro and is currently the director of the group.

Her literary path is focused on periodic collaborations with the magazine Lazúrtegui. In addition, she was the winner of the literary contest in its 2021 call, the only event that was maintained that year after the suspension of the rest of the activities due to the pandemic.

The story “Ne me quitte pas” (translated from French “Don’t leave me”), deals with Down´s Syndrome from the perspective of two young twin siblings, a boy and a girl, showing us the experiences of both of them throughout their lives.

Navarro has participated six times in the literary contest of the National Festival of Exaltation of the Botillo.

Expressly because she is a resident of Bembibre, the winner has confirmed her participation in the event of the LI National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo, to be held on February 3th at the Manuel Marqués Patarita pavilion. The prize for the winning story is 1,000€.

This work is already available for reading on the website of the Festival del Botillo, in the section “Winners of the literary contest” https://www.festivaldelbotillo.com/el-festival/concurso-literario/ganadores-concurso-literario/.
