The Torres´s brothers and Víctor Manuel will be the stars of the Botillo Festival that celebrates its golden anniversary

The brothers Javier and Sergio Torres will be the mantenedores- chairmen of the Bembibre’s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo, which will be held on February 11th in the Manuel Marqués Patarita pavilion. Last November, the twin brothers were awarded three Michelin stars, the maximum that a restaurant can achieve, entering the gastronomic Olympus.

The twin brothers were born in Barcelona in 1970, their culinary vocation was clear from their childhood. Thanks to this, excellent training and the regard of their cuisine from a technical and sensory perspective, they managed to get two stars with their restaurant Dos Cielos in Barcelona in the 2018th edition of the Michelin Guide, and after relocating , three stars for the new Cocina Hermanos Torres restaurant, in the 2022th edition.

At the age of eight it was already clear to them that they wanted to be chefs, thanks to the influence of their grandmother Catalina, who began cooking in stately homes in Linares (Jaén), who continued doing so for the bourgeoisie when she moved to Barcelona.

At the age of fourteen they began studying at the cooking school and finished their academic training with the experience of working in restaurants in Barcelona, with two Michelin stars.

They opened the Dos Cielos Barcelona restaurant in 2008, where they obtained their first Michelin star in December 2010. The second star came in 2017, added to the 2018 edition of the Guide.

They inaugurated their creative laboratory “Espacio Ilusión” near the Park Güell in Barcelona, in what was their grandmother’s house, and in 2017 they opened the ‘Dos Cielos’ Madrid. In 2018. They closed the Dos Cielos Barcelona to open “Cocina Hermanos Torres”in July 2018, which has become an international gastronomic reference.

The restaurant obtained two Michelin stars and three Suns from the Repsol Guide in 2019. On November 22, they obtained their third star for the 2023 Michelin Guide.

The Asturian singer Víctor Manuel will perform on February 11th as part of the Bembibre’s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo. His performance will be the ultimate event prior to dinner. He will sing his best back catalogue as part of his ´ 75th birthday tour´ .

On November 25th, Víctor Manuel (Mieres del Camino, 1947) published ‘La vida en canciones’, the most complete retrospective of his work ever published, in book format with three CDs and a total of 59 songs, including all the greatest hits

Now, with his 75th birthday in July, the singer-songwriter began the so-called ’75th birthday tour’ that will end at Bembibre’s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo on February 11th, where he will perform acoustically (piano and guitar).

The performance will be the culmination of a great gala that will have two ´mantenedores´ -chairman, the respected television chefs Javier and Sergio Torres, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bembibre’s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo

The Gala will begin at 8:00 p.m. after the reception of guests in the Manuel Marqués Patarita pavilion. It will be presented and conducted by Héctor Keudell and María de Miguel, with the usual format of recent years that combines audiovisual production, stage production, interventions and musical performances.

At the event, the Councilor for Culture, Festivals, Tourism and Commerce, Belén Martín Díaz, will greet the attendees and read the results of the literary contest. In the institutional field, the mayoress of Bembibre, Silvia Cao Fornís, will address a few words to the audience and introduce the ´mantenedores´-chairman of this edition, Javier and Sergio Torres. After their speech, it will conclude with the acoustic recital by Víctor Manuel.

Next, there will be a tasting of the sausage to which Bembibre honors, the Botillo, to end the day with a party open to the general public with the Tequila and Gran Parada orchestras.
