The XII Jornadas de Pinchos del Botillo (Pinchos Days) have their winners

The ‘Botillo 2.3’ pintxo by O Pulpeiro has taken the first prize in the Botillo Pintxos Days, according to the evaluation of the jury that met this very evening. After the decision, the awards ceremony took place for the top six finalists of this twelfth edition of the competition.

The winner received a plaque and a voucher for two people at Spa&Food, at The Rock Suite Spa. The top three are completed by La Garimba (2nd), participating for the first time this year with the ‘Marakana’ pintxo, winning a dinner for two at La Piedra restaurant in addition to the plaque; and Bar La Obrera (3rd) with the ‘Cestito de Botillo,’ which received the identifying plaque and a leg of ham.

La Tapería secured the fourth position in the contest with the ‘Bombón Rocher’ pintxo. In fifth place, Mesón Señorío del Bierzo, which created a pintxo named ‘Sushi de botillo sobre crujiente de galleta’ (Botillo Sushi on a Crunchy Biscuit), took its spot. On the other hand, Venan’s Bar claimed sixth place with the ‘Creps de botillo’ (Botillo Crepes). All of them received a plaque accrediting their participation and position in the competition.

Ahead, there are three more days of the event, coinciding with the big botillo exaltation weekend on February 10th, 11th, and 12th. It is expected that the attendance will be even higher than what was recorded during the first weekend.

The award ceremony was attended by the councilor for Culture, Festivities, Tourism, and Commerce, Belén Martín, as well as three members of the jury: Vanesa Capilla, representative of the Chamber of Commerce in El Bierzo; and the council members of the Corporation, Elba Casado and Sigifredo Benavides.
