Lourdes Maldonado will be the mantenedora-chairwoman and Master of Ceremonies of the LI Bembibre´s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo
The journalist from Guipuzcoa, Lourdes Maldonado, will be the mantenedora-chairwoman of the 51st edition of the Bembibre´s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo to be held on February 3th in the Manuel Marqués Patarita pavilion. Since last September she has been presenting “Las tardes de RNE” (The afternoons of RNE).
Associated with radio and television, Lourdes Maldonado has worked for the main national channels and radio stations. She began her professional career at Gipuzkoa Telebista Txingudi, the local television station in Irún, until 2000, when she made the leap to Antena 3.
She has been one of the faces of Antena 3’s TV news programs, becoming the most watched weekend news program in Spain in 2007. After her time at Telemadrid, she joined the staff of Televisión Española, where she presented the magazine Hablando Claro until her recent incorporation to public radio.
She has covered news of historical significance such as the abdication of King Juan Carlos and the proclamation of Pope Francis.
The musical performance by Merche
Cádiz singer Merche Trujillo will be the star of the musical performance at the gala of the Botillo Festival.
Merche has become one of the best-known singer-songwriters in the country with ten albums published to date. She has had notable hits such as “Abre tu mente”, “Le deseo” or “Si te marchas”, among others.
She is currently promoting her latest single “Mi amiga María”, the second single of a series of songs based on some of the most important songs of Merche’s career and tell how these stories have evolved over the years. This time this story is the continuation of the story of the song “Le deseo”.
The Botillo Gala
The Botillo gala will begin at 20:00 after the reception of guests at the Manuel Marqués Patarita pavilion. It will be presented and conducted by journalists Miguel Ángel Blanco and Olaia Rueda, with the usual format of recent years that combines audiovisual production, stage production, speeches and a musical performance.
As usual, the Botillo Festival will serve to formalize a new twinning which, on this occasion, will be with the Casa de León in La Coruña.
At the event, the Councilor for Culture, Festivities, Tourism and Commerce, Belén Martín Díaz, will greet the attendees and announce the decision of the literary contest. In the institutional field, the mayoress of Bembibre, Silvia Cao Fornís, will address the public with a few words and will introduce the chairwoman. After her speech, the 30-minute musical performance will end the gala to give way to the botillo tasting dinner.
After dinner there will be dancing open to the general public with the orchestras La Oca and Panamá.
Logistics
Logistics is important to achieve the best results in the organization of the National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo. For this it is essential to use a number of companies that are responsible for providing those services that cannot be managed directly by the city of Bembibre.
This year the floral ornamentation has been entrusted to Alhoja Floristas and the decoration and marquees are provided by the company Carpalia.
The company that will serve the catering will be Hanasson Eventos. The diners will taste the botillo made by Embutidos Pajariel. It was planned that this year it would be a botillo from Embutidos Santa Cruz de Montes but due to the fire last July it is not fully operational. The wines will be from Dominio de Tares. Dessert will include cake from Dulces Sueños and the toasting wine will be Xamprada. Garrapiñadas Hinojosa will also be served.
