This Thursday, March 17, the Cultural Week of the National Festival of Exaltation of the Botillo will focus on the Bembibre Sewing Workshop, following the common thread of this edition of the gastronomic event. It will be with a round table, moderated by the Bembibrense journalist María Ángeles Cebrones, entitled “Con el alma engalanada”, at 8:00 p.m. in the Casa de las Culturas.
The round table will have some of the members of the Sewing Workshop in the early years, under the direction of Ángeles Alonso. A day to learn about the operation of this workshop in its beginnings, as well as anecdotes and stories that the participants will tell: Fefa, Etelsina, Dora and Gracia.
The Sewing Workshop opened its doors in 1985, initially in the old Palace schools that were ceded by the then mayor, Antonio Rey. With the inauguration of the Alto Bierzo Museum in the Santo building in 1987, the Sewing Workshop moved its location to these facilities, where it is still active.
