Festival of National Tourist Interest
The Secretary of State for Tourism, dependent on the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce of the Government of Spain, agreed on this day to grant Bembibre’s Botillo Festival title of Festival of National Tourist Interest.
It is the highest national recognition that places the gastronomic event among the most outstanding cultural manifestations due to its size, trajectory and tradition.
Bembibre’s council received the notification the 22th of June, 2008. Anyway, and the recognition is ratified a week later, the 29th.
The Secretary of Tourism, Joan Mesquida Ferrando, said the following: “I send you my sincere congratulations, hoping that in the future, this festival will continue to preserve the tourist attractions that have made it worthy of this title.
