From Galicia (Monforte de Lemos, 1953), but with a soul from el Bierzo, the TV José Manuel Parada was one of the mantenedores who was in charge of proclaiming the virtues of Botillo in 1999.

He studied teaching for primary schools and journalism. He made his way into the radio environment, going through different stations. But his figure is closely linked to Televisión Española, debuting in 1988 in the musical space ‘Contigo’. He joined the program ‘Pasa la vida‘, by María Teresa Campos in 1991. Four years later, in October 1995, he was in charge of the successful program ‘Cine de barrio‘, recovering screenings from the 60s and 70s, with some of their main characters turned into old glories of the national cinema.

In March 1999 José Manuel Parada build up his own production Company that he named after Ponferrada’s river Sil, Sil Producciones, S.L.
