The composer and orchestra director Odón Alonso Ordás, was mantenedor of Bembibre’s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo on its 13th edition. He is one of the most important orchestra directors of the second half of the 20th century in Spain.
Born in La Bañeza, he combined his musical training at the Superior Conservatory of Madrid with his studies in Philosophy and Letters. He has conducted the most prestigious Spanish orchestras, such as the Orquesta y Coro de Radio Nacional de España, the Orquesta Nacional de España or, until 1984, the Symphonic Orchestra of Radio Televisión Española. He was also in charge of the Teatro de La Zarzuela and the Madrid Philharmonic.
Taking part in the Festival with the Orfeón Leonés performing original pieces composed by his father, the also director Odón Alonso González.
