The president of the Government of Castilla y León, Juan Vicente Herrera, was mantenedor (chairman) of Bembibre’s National Festival for the Exaltation of Botillo on its XXXI edition. His presence in the event was used to inaugurate the new Theatre Benevivere.

Law degree in 1978, lawyer between Burgos and Madrid from 1987 to 1992, at which time he served as general secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Employment directed by Fernando Becker.

In 1995 he was head of the PP list for the province of Burgos, as PP spokesman in the chamber. With his re-election as Attorney General in 1999, he was proposed to occupy the position of President of the Government of Castilla y León, after the resignation of the then president, Juan José Lucas, appointed Minister of the Presidency.

Juan Vicente Herrera is the third regional president to play this role after José María Aznar and his predecessor Juan José Lucas.
