Serviceman from Toreno, José García Corral (Pepe Corral for his fellow countrymen) was chairman of the ninth edition of Bembibre’s Botillo Festival. An event that has been gaining relevance and popularity and that was already looking for new locations for future celebrations (to date, it took place in the Dancing Club room).
A continuous evolution was possible thanks to a group of people who, nine years before, had started this celebration. One of those people who sponsored Bembibre’s Botillo Festival was Pepe Corral. He was part of the original team that make the Festival possible for the 1st time in Madrid at La Casa de León in 1948.
A mention of the power of union of botillo was not lacking in his speech, as recounted by Manuel Olano Pastor in the Memory of Bembibre’s Botillo Festival.
